• Old Testament New Testament
• Than the names number of Books
• It requires knowing Gods overall plan for
  mankind.
• It requires knowing what the Bible teaches.

• It is also the most misunderstood Book in the
  world.
• We can understand the Bible.
• The question is HOW?

• First, one must approach the Bible with the right
  attitude.
• Some have the mistaken idea that the Bible cannot
  be understood.
• Others hold the view that God never intended for
  man to understand the Bible alike.

• Do not limit Gods intellect, power or goodness
  by holding such views.
• Approach the Bible, that it is the inspired Word
  of God.
• That He has given us His Word to guide us to
  heaven.

• Our attitude must be If we cannot under- stand
  it, it cannot guide us.

• The acid test of sincerity is our willingness to
  accept the truth.
• We must be willing to accept what the Bible says.
• We must not look for proof-texts to support
  preconceived ideas.

• We must do more than occasionally read a few
  verses at random.
• We must make a genuine effort to rightly divide
  the Word of God.
• Get into the text!
• DIG IT OUT!

• Study is hard work, but so rewarding.

• Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst
  after righteousness for they shall be filled.

• Accuracy in understanding the Bible does not come
  by accident.
• We cannot understand the Bible listening to false
  teachers!
• Dont listen to all the TV preachers!
• There are things, we must do.

• WE MUST
• Study each passage in context.
• We must study all that the Bible teaches on a
  given subject.
• Avoid drawing conclusion from one passage which
  would contradict another.

• Remember the Bible does not contradict itself!
• If we draw a conclusion from one passage that
  contradicts the teachings of another, we have
  drawn the wrong conclusion.

• So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by
  the word of God.
• To grow, we must study with an open mind.

  then give us a book to guide us, that we could
  not understand!

• For God is not the author of confusion, but of
  peace, as in all churches of the saints.

• Search the scriptures for in them ye think ye
  have eternal life and they are they which
  testify of me.
• Jesus was saying study Gods Word that we might
  learn what to do to have that eternal life.
• This proves that it can be understood!

  love and His plan for mankind.
• We learn of the sacrifice of His Son.
