2Vision/Mission
- The Saint Louis University Libraries envision
themselves as a supportive service to the
transformative educational process of SLU and are
committed to providing expedient and effective
access to high quality library services,
collections in a variety of formats and
information resources designed to meet the
curriculum, research, professional, intellectual,
creative and personal needs of the SLU community.

8Grey Literature
- Theses and dissertations can be borrowed for room
use only. - A written permission from the author of the
unpublished material should be secured by the
graduate student, if he/she wishes to photocopy
other contents aside from the abstract. - The Library Working Scholar will accompany the
graduate student in photocopying abstracts of
theses/dissertations in any photocopying center
in the library.

12Library Borrowers Card
- Schedule of Issuance
- Any time during office hours
- A lost borrowers card should be reported
immediately to the person-in-charge at the 5th
floor of the library building - A fee of Php40.00 is charged for the replacement
of a lost borrowers card. A borrowers card is
non-transferable.
13Access Services
- General Collection
- A graduate student may borrow three (3) books for
a week and return the same anytime during the
library hours - Faculty on study leave is also entitled to this
privilege and - This privilege is available during regular
semester or summer term.

- Textbook Collection
- A graduate student may avail of the service of
this section according to his graduate
subjects/loads. - The graduate student should accomplish the form
provided by the Textbook Section. - The textbooks borrowed by the graduate students
are charge in the same way as undergraduate
students do.

- Multimedia Library
- Students must present his borrowers card and
duly registered I.D. at the counter before
entering the Multimedia Library - Students must deposit all his personal belongings
except valuables at the counter before using the
Multimedia Library - The library patron will choose a CD from the
lists provided at the counter, then fill up the
pink card attached to the CD, then the Library
working scholar or the Library Staff will assign
a computer station for the patron to view the
borrowed CD.
16Borrowing Procedures
- For room use
- 1. Use the card catalog or the Online Public
Access Catalog (OPAC) to locate the needed
material - 2. Copy accurately the call number, author and
title of the material on a call slip. Call slips
are provided at the library counters. - 3. Present the call slip to the Library Working
Scholar stationed at the counter. - 4. Write Name I.D. No. on the book card (pink
card) if the material is available. - 5. Leave borrowers card and duly registered
perpetual I.D. card before getting the book. - 6. Return the book and get I.D and Borrowers card
17Borrowing Procedures
- For overnight use
- 1. Use the card catalog or the Online Public
Access Catalog (OPAC) to locate the needed
material - 2. Copy accurately the call number, author and
title of the material on a call slip. Call slips
are provided at the library counters. - 3. Present the call slip to the Library Working
Scholar stationed at the counter. - 4. Fill up the book card (pink card) with
complete name and ID no. - 5. Accomplish the logbook for books borrowed for
overnight.
18Returning Procedures
- Library materials form the general circulating
collection and reserved materials must be
returned to the circulation desk. Patrons are
encouraged to let their borrowers card be
annotated with returned when library materials
are returned. No claims regarding return of
library materials will be honored without an
annotated borrowers card.
19Charges
- Overdue materials are charged with overdue fines.
Sundays and holidays are included in the
computation of overdue fines. - The library charges Php17.00 per day/per book for
overdue book/s borrowed for a week. - The library charges Php12.00 per hour for overdue
books borrowed for photocopy and confiscation of
borrowers card.
20Charges
- Lost books must be paid according to the value
determined by the library or replaced with a copy
of the same title. - Processing fee and any accumulated fines will be
charged. - Library books damaged beyond repair must be
replaced with the same title.
