Curriculum Rules for MS CS degree
  • Need 8 GT courses (each 3 credits)
  • gt Register for ALL GT courses each semester
  • Graduation requirements
  • 36 total credits
  • 33 course credits required (24 GT, 9 transfer
    from KU)
  • 3 project credits (CS 8903 from GT in Spring
    2010)
  • Grades below C do not count
  • Grades once earned do not disappear from
    transcript (e.g., repeating a course and getting
    a better grade does not replace the old bad
    grade)
  • Minimum cumulative GPA for graduation 3.0

  • Can I register for less number of GT courses?
  • Yes, butcould result in delaying your graduation
  • You need 8 GT courses to graduate and only 8 GT
    courses are offered in 2009
  • Can I add a course?
  • Deadline January 9, 4 PM EST
  • Classes can only be dropped after this deadline,
    not added.
  • Cannot change the basis of the course after this
    deadline (e.g., cannot change from pass/fail to
    letter grade)
  • Can I drop a course?
  • Yes, butcould result in delaying your graduation
  • Drop without the course appearing on transcript
  • Deadline January 9, 4 PM EST
  • Drop with W for course
  • Deadline February 27, 1159 PM EST

  • What should I do if I register for less or want
    to add/drop a course?
  • Immediately let Annika and Kishore know
  • Why?
  • The program pre-pays your tuition to GT assuming
    you are registering for all courses each semester
  • GT will automatically send you a check for the
    dropped course
  • You need to return the check to us so that we can
    apply it to you for the next semester
  • You will not be able to register the following
    semester unless you return the check to us
    immediately

  • Students are expected to act according to the
    highest ethical standards. The immediate
    objective of an Academic Honor Code is to prevent
    any Students from gaining an unfair advantage
    over other Students through academic misconduct. 
  • Academic misconduct is any act that does or
    could improperly distort Student grades or other
    Student academic records. Such acts include but
    need not be limited to the following
  • Possessing, using or exchanging improperly
    acquired written or verbal information in the
    preparation of any essay, laboratory report,
    examination, or other assignment included in an
    academic course
  • Substitution for, or unauthorized collaboration
    with, a Student in the commission of academic
    requirements
  • Submission of material that is wholly or
    substantially identical to that created or
    published by another person or person, without
    adequate credit notations indicating authorship
    (plagiarism)
  • False claims of performance or work that has been
    submitted by the claimant
  • Alteration or insertion of any academic grade or
    rating so as to obtain unearned academic credit
  • Deliberate falsification of a written or verbal
    statement of fact to a member of the Faculty so
    as to obtain unearned academic credit
  • Forgery, alteration or misuse of any Institute
    document relating to the academic status of the
    Student.
