Scanning

• Click scan
• Select flatbed, 24-bit color, 300 dpi
• Preview
• Adjust borders to be scanned
• Scan
• Double-click on the image and it will open in
  PageViewer where you can save as, or open with
  software and edit.
• These scanners can scan documents for editing.

• a Floppy (about 1.44 MB storage)

• On computer on which you are working - measured
  in gigabytes
• d DVD, CD, Zip

• You must exit the drive you are using before
  removing a portable storage device! Switch to
  another drive or close the program.

File Management
Most computers no longer come with a floppy
drive. Other portable storage devices hold much
more information. A USB stick holds up to 2000
MB compared to 1.44 MB.

• Select drive
• Select file
• Double-click or click on open
• How to save a file
• File
• Save As
• Save in
• Select drive and folder
• Type in name of document
• Click Save

Open up a word document and try this yourself.

Keyboard Shortcuts

• Ctrl C copy
• Ctrl X copy and CUT
• Ctrl V paste
• Ctrl S save (same document, same location)
• Ctrl Z undo the last action
• Ctrl ? advance cursor to beginning of next word
• Ctrl ? move cursor to beginning of previous
  word
• There are many more shortcuts they will save
  your wrists! Go to the Help index in Word and
  type in keyboard shortcut and print out a list
  to keep by your keyboard.
