Title: Leadership
1Leadership
2Leadership
- Once we establish the limits and boundaries of
our responsibilities, we can take full charge of
that which is our duty and let go of that which
is not in doing so, we find more enjoyment
supporting others, as we create more harmonious,
cooperative relationships.
3Leadership
- For peace of mind,
- we need to resign as general
- manager of the universe.
4Leadership is simply a combination of energies
and acts that cause people to move in a
direction they would not normally move under
their own initiative.
5What Does Leadership Look Like?
A few qualities that distinguish the kind of
leadership that people tend to respect, admire,
trust and ultimately follow
-
- Vision Listening
- Courage Performing
- Authenticity Learning
- Integrity Following
- Empathy Doing the Right Thing
6- Vision provides Motivation
- A leader has a crystal clear vision that
- so contributes to others that people are
compelled to support the leader in his/her quest. -
- The vision is communicated as inevitable
- so that it stays forefront in
- our hearts and minds.
7- Courage provides Inspiration
- Leaders see the risks of their pursuits
- and lead anyway, regardless of
- cooperation or consensus from others.
- To the degree that you are
- self-motivated, you will demonstrate
- extraordinary courage.
8- Authenticity provides Trust
- Authenticity is the real you
- the good, the bad and the ugly.
-
- When you have the courage to show
- people a glimpse of your humanity,
- then what they get is you.
- People trust that.
9- Integrity provides Respect
- A leaders actions are consistent
- with his/her promises.
-
- We can count on who they are
- and what they do.
- Integrity has nothing to do
- with ethics.
10- Empathy provides Empowerment
- Leaders seek to see things from
- anothers point of view.
- They empower others by seeking to
- understand how it looks, sounds and
- feels from someone elses
- vantage point.
11- Listening provides Honor
- A leader listens in such a way that we
- feel heard not necessarily agreed with, but
heard and honored. - Hear the source of their comments, the
- emotion behind their words, and the
- intent of what they are saying.
12- Performing provides Training
- Lead by example through your commitment, actions
and enthusiasm, regardless of the circumstances - or obstacles.
- Performing the same tasks you ask others
- to perform is the best training
- you can provide.
13- Learning provides Growth
- A leader stays on a continuous path of
- business, technology, personal and character
development. - No one ever arrives. As soon as we act
- as though we have, we lose our
- power of leadership.
14- Following provides Humility
- A leader is willing to follow when that
- is what the adventure calls for
- in the moment.
- All leaders have been, and still are,
- followers in different areas
- or circumstances.
15- Doing the Right Thing
- provides
- Secure Relationships
- Foremost in a leaders decision making is doing
what honors and serves others, - not self.
- Requires keen, courageous and
- unselfish judgment.
16- Finding Leaders
- Your strategy in building an empire
- must always focus on attracting,
- causing to rise up out of the masses,
- and holding on to leaders.
- To do this, YOU must be a powerful
- and attractive leader.
17What would it be like to sponsor someone like
you?
- How much product would someone like
- you initially order?
- How many shows would someone like
- you set up for your sponsor to present
- for you?
18What would it be like to sponsor someone like
you?
- How fast would someone like you
- advance to higher levels of the
- compensation plan?
- How many people like you would you
- need to sponsor to reach your goals?
19What would it be like to sponsor someone like
you?
- How much fun would it be to sponsor
- someone like you?
- How would it change your outlook on the
- business?
20Leaders are Everywhere! Its not so much where
to find them a how to flush them out of the
people you sponsor along the way. If youve
sponsored 20-30 people, you have probably
sponsored 2-3 great leaders already.
21Treat each person you enroll as your next great
leader. See them as so. Speak to them as
so. Make requests of them as so. Give them
responsibilities as so. Have expectations of them
as so. They will look at you and respond to how
you look at them.
22Acid Tests
Determine the readiness of their potential by
giving them challenges.
- Make unreasonable requests with
- deadlines.
- Keep challenging them.
23Inspiration
Leaders want to be part of a vibrant, exciting,
competitive team.
- Give them targets and show them the
- tangible and intangible rewards for
- achieving them.
- Keep the game on the forefronts of their
- hearts and minds, even after they falter.
24Inspiration
Leaders want to be part of a vibrant, exciting,
competitive team.
- Know their values, desires and what
- they want to accomplish.
- Teach them the arts of vision and self-
- motivation.
25Get Out of the Way
Let them fail or succeed without you being there
to save the day or take the credit.
- Sometimes this is right away
- sometimes much later.
- Be sensitive to how your leadership may
- be holding people back.
- Let them fly!
26Accountability
- You cant manage
- another human being
- thats their job.
27Accountability
- The only two things that can
- be managed are
- The inner conversation you have with yourself.
- Your part of the conversation with others.
