• I-4 corridor provides access Jacksonville, Tampa
  and Miami
• Population is approx. 43,000

• Updated the Redevelopment Plan in 1999
• The citys Comprehensive Plan combines Integrated
  Land Uses with Multi-Model Transportation
• And Pro-Active Economic Development Policies

• Promoting Flex Bus Transit System
• Supporting Commuter Rail (CRT) and station
  located on the east side of city
• In process of amending Comp Plan to establish
  TCEA per Ch. 163 Florida Statutes
• Requiring Development/Redevelopment and
  Transportation to work together!

Process

• Explore options to promote Multi-Modal
  Transportation policy (including TCEA, MMTD, Long
  Term Concurrency Management Description)
• Review redevelopment, economic development and
  the City Vision to determine compatibility
• Engage the FDOT to review advantages of TCEA
  how it supports FDOT and DCA policies at the
  local level
• Determine action plan to move forward with the
  Altamonte Springs TCEA

• Determine area and boundaries of TCEA
• Use consultants to prepare technical
  documentation
• Data collection - Inventory all transportation
  facilities
• Update detailed land use projections
• Prepare Methodology Report, distribute to
  affected governmental agencies (RPC, FDOT, DCA
  adjacent municipalities)

• Prepare Justification Report
• Prepare GOPs for amendment to the Comp Plan
• Workshops and public meetings as necessary
