NEHAs newest Technical Section recognizes the
importance of the concept of sustaining our
earth environment for future generations. NEHA
believes that protecting our natural environment
is critical to the health and prosperity of our
communities and country. NEHA also recognizes
the emerging field of sustainability falls within
the scope of practice of the environmental health
profession. The second annual NEHA Excellence in
Sustainability Award was presented to the
Hernando County School District in Brooksville,
Florida. Plano, Texas won the first award.
