1 2Goals
- Expand existing leadership pool within the
student body. - Help students assume leadership roles in student
groups campus organizations. - Demonstrate that freshman students are an
integral part of the university. - Help students gain a better sense of the elements
of leadership and different leadership styles.
3Goals
- Outreach program helps SWOSU in the recruitment
of high school scholars. - Students serve as ambassadors of SWOSU.
- PLC members will be the future business,
community political leaders for Western
Oklahoma. - Alumnus of PLC will become a great support group
for future university and alumni projects.
4Class Makeup
- Approximately 15 Freshmen Students each year.
Class I has 15 students. Class II has 17
students. - Application period ends March 1st of each year.
- Selection committee the SWOSU President make
final selections after personal interviews. - Class selections are made by the 1st week of May.
5SCHOLARSHIP Benefits
- 1,000 Scholarship/Stipend for the Freshman
Sophomore years. - Housing waiver for the Freshman year.
- Early enrollment opportunity.
- Opportunity to meet and learn from business and
political leaders from the area, state and the
nation.
6Eligibility Criteria
- ACT score of 24 or higher.
- Top 40 of graduating class.
- Exceptional involvement in activities, athletics
and community service.

- Monthly meetings with SWOSU President.
- Weekly class meetings that will constitute one
credit hour per semester. - Trip to Oklahoma State Capitol for legislative
