Tips
  • Keep each chalk-talk fairly short.
  • It can be difficult to use your teaching voice
when you are alone at the microphone, so try to
    sound upbeat.
  • Plan for your next use of your creations before
    you produce them.
  • Get feedback from colleagues and students.

Preliminary Student Feedback
  • I found the new method of explaining the answers
    to the quiz very helpful!--Tamara
  • i really liked the new site on the math page. i
thought it was very helpful and would be a great
asset if continued to use it for the rest of the
year. I think it will help out a lot b/c of how
quickly you go through things in class. the
students can relate to this to catch the points
they missed while you were explaining some
problems. i hope we continue on using this. --
    dan
  • I really like how you presented the quiz in the
class today. I like being able to see it over
again. I hope that you keep this up. I still
think that it is good that you go over it in
    class too though. -- Brian
  • I thought this was a great tool. It gave me more
time to interpret each problem and focus on the
stuff I got wrong. It's very useful because you
can go back an look at it whenever you want. It's
also nice because it gives everyone more time in
class to ask questions on the current set of
homework instead of past problems. I really
appreciate you taking the time to do this and
think it will be very helpful in studying too.
    --Jessica
