4How Did We Get Here?
- Integrated Technology Strategy (ITS)
- Developed by CSU campus presidents in 1993 at the
request of the Chancellor. - Serviced by Technology Infrastructure Services
(TIS) in the CO - Telecommunication Infrastructure Master Plan
developed in 1996. - System-wide telecommunication standards developed
(TIP Standards). - Funding provided by Prop 1A and Prop 47.
5Project Goals
- Establish the CSU minimum baseline
telecommunications standards for all state-funded
classrooms and offices. - Pathways (i.e., conduits)
- Media (i.e., fiber cables)
- Spaces (i.e., telecom rooms)
- Network Equipment (i.e., switches)
6Project Goal Eliminate inefficient, unsafe,
crowded Telecommunications spaces
7... and create this
Neat and tidy Well laid
out
8How Is It Structured?
- Primarily funded from the Chancellors Office
resources. - Campus implementation is divided into three
phases - CSUMB is at the end of Phase III. - Each campus project has two major components.
- Stage 1 - physical infrastructure (TII)
- Stage 2 - network electronics (ITRP)
