• In order to understand the concept of Gods
  grace, it is important to know the answer to
  these questions

I. Are there degrees of sinsome worse than
others? (Rom 323)

• A. If there are degrees or amounts of sin,
  there would be relative merit
• B. In order for there to be pure grace, there can
  be no merit in any man
• 1. If there was any merit, righteous judgment
  would require that to be rewarded (Rom 44)
• 2. Grace is not the payment of any debtit is not
  a reward for any merit.

II. Are there degrees of gracesome given more
than others?

• A. Grace is not withheld because of demerit
• B. Grace is not lessened because of demerit
• C. All are given equal gracefor there is no
  difference (Rom 322-24)

III. Is grace treating a person better than he or
she deserves?

• A. Grace is never over-payment of a debt
• B. Grace cannot even incur a debt
• C. Grace is a gift (Rom 623 John 1028)
• 1. It is an unrecompensed (unrewarded) favor
• 2. It is a pure benefit from God

IV. Is it possible to serve God as a repayment
for His gift?

• A. There is no debtGrace is a gift
• B. There is no payment required, past, present,
  or future
• C. Thus, good works are not an obligation, they
  are solely as a result of a change in life (Eph
  210 Titus 214 Tit 38)
• D. This change is applied by the unbeliever by
  belief and by the believer by confessing..
