Description of FQPA

• Establishes a health based safety standard for
  pesticide residues in all foods
• Consideration for childrens special sensitivity
  and exposure to pesticide chemicals
• Requires that existing tolerances (maximum limits
  for pesticide residues in food) be reviewed every
  10 years
• Allows FDA to impose civil penalties for
  tolerance violations.
• Requires distribution of a brochure in grocery
  stores on the health effects of pesticides
• Basically, all pesticide food must be safe!
• Assessments are done on how a pesticide food
  affects children, infants, estrogen, endocrine
  disorders
• Assesses food, drinking water, and residential
  uses
