6Evaluation of Transfer Credit
- Your transfer credits will be evaluated and
applied to your records. - Any transfer courses that have not been approved
may require a petition - your advisor can assist
with this during an individual appointment (bring
course descriptions). - Course requirements for each major are listed

8Academic Plan. . .
- The next few slides will present courses needed
to meet the General Education/ Core requirements,
Pre-Professional requirements, Business Core and
selected Major Requirements. - These slides will help you with registration for
the upcoming semester. Have pen and paper on
hand. - You should schedule (online), a follow-up
academic advising appointment approximately 4
weeks after the semester begins to go over your
program requirements in detail.
9Administrative Items
- Registration Holds
- Student records may be placed in a hold status
because of financial or other obligations to the
University. While the students records are on
hold, registration will not be permitted nor will
transcripts be released. Records will be held
until the obligation is cleared. - CLAST (College Level Academic Skills Test)
- The CLAST is a State of Florida mandated
achievement test designed to measure students
attainment of college-level communication and
mathematics skills. The test consists of four
subjects Essay, English Language Skills,
Reading, and Mathematics. Students are required
to pass all four subtests within a specific time
frame. - (Ask your Academic Advisor for details)
- Gordon Rule
- This rule, also State of Florida mandated,
requires students to successfully complete 12
semester hours of course work to meet a total
writing requirement of at least 24,000 words and
6 semester hours of mathematics at or above the
level of College Algebra with a grade of C or
better. - (Ask your Academic Advisor for details)
10Foreign Language
- All degrees require a minimum of 2 high school
years of the same foreign language with passing
grades. - Majors in General Economics, International
Economics, and International Business Trade
must complete 2 college semesters of the same
language, or have equivalent competency
(CLEP/bilingual proof). - If you lack the foreign language required for
your program, add it to your list of possible
courses to take.

classes. - If you do not please go back and review the last
6 slides. - Scenario 1 if you transferred to FAU with less
than 60 hours, you may be lacking in your general
education and pre professional requirements.
Therefore your list should consist of any
outstanding classes from the above areas. - Scenario 2 if you transferred to FAU with an AA
degree from an accredited Florida Institution,
then your General Education Requirements are met.
Therefore you should be finishing up any
preprofessional requirements that are
outstanding. In addition to taking classes from
your Business Core and Major Requirements. - EXTREMELY IMPORTANT Do not sign up for any
course, that you think, you may have already
taken. - Check with your advisor first.
