Title: Project Two
1Project Two Two Minute Video on Biology
- For this project you are going to create a two
minute video on topic we studied this semester.
2Project Two Two Minute Video on Biology
- For this project you are going to create a two
minute video on topic we studied this semester. - Macromolecules
- The Cell
- Photosynthesis
- Cellular Respiration
- DNA
- DNA Technology
3Project Two Two Minute Video on Biology
- You will take one of the Biology Standards and do
a short video. I will provide the means for you
to produce your video. You will supply the
elements that will go into the video.
4Project Two Two Minute Video on Biology
- You will be assigned into groups of four
students. You will then decide among yourselves,
which of four roles you will play
5Project Two Two Minute Video on Biology
- The Animator is responsible for the visual
elements. These can be pictures, drawings, or
computer images
6Project Two Two Minute Video on Biology
- The Narrator is responsible for writing text to
be read while the artwork is being videotaped.
They will also be the voice on the video
7Project Two Two Minute Video on Biology
- The Director is responsible for learning how to
use the video equipment and directing the
production of the video
8Project Two Two Minute Video on Biology
- The Producer is responsible for completing a
daily progress report and ensuring that all tasks
are completed. No one can leave the class until
the daily progress report is submitted to Mr.
Adolfo
9Project Two Two Minute Video on Biology
- Macromolecules
- 1. h. Students know most macromolecules
(polysaccharides, nucleic acids, proteins,
lipids) in cells and organisms are synthesized
from a small collection of simple precursors. - 1. b. Students know enzymes are proteins that
catalyze biochemical reactions without altering
the reaction equilibrium and the activities of
enzymes depend on the temperature, ionic
conditions, and the pH of the surroundings.
10Project Two Two Minute Video on Biology
- Cells
- c. Students know how prokaryotic cells,
eukaryotic cells (including those from plants and
animals), and viruses differ in complexity and
general structure. - 1. a. Students know cells are enclosed within
semipermeable membranes that regulate their
interaction with their surroundings. - 1. e. Students know the role of the endoplasmic
reticulum and Golgi apparatus in the secretion of
proteins.
11Project Two Two Minute Video on Biology
- Photosynthesis
- 1. f. Students know usable energy is captured
from sunlight by chloroplasts and is stored
through the synthesis of sugar from carbon
dioxide. - 1. i. Students know how chemiosmotic gradients
in the mitochondria and chloroplast store energy
for ATP production.
12Project Two Two Minute Video on Biology
- Cellular Respiration
- 1. g. Students know the role of the mitochondria
in making stored chemical-bond energy available
to cells by completing the breakdown of glucose
to carbon dioxide. - 1. i. Students know how chemiosmotic gradients
in the mitochondria and chloroplast store energy
for ATP production.
13Project Two Two Minute Video on Biology
- DNA
- 1. d. Students know the central dogma of
molecular biology outlines the flow of
information from transcription of ribonucleic
acid (RNA) in the nucleus to translation of
proteins on ribosomes in the cytoplasm. - 4. a. Students know the general pathway by which
ribosomes synthesize proteins, using tRNAs to
translate genetic information in mRNA.
14Project Two Two Minute Video on Biology
- DNA Technology
- 5. c. Students know how genetic engineering
(biotechnology) is used to produce novel
biomedical and agricultural products. - 5. d. Students know how basic DNA technology
(restriction digestion by endonucleases, gel
electrophoresis, ligation, and transformation) is
used to construct recombinant DNA molecules.

- Combustion of Ethanol
- C2H5OH O2 ? 2CO2 H2O
- Reaction of Sodium and Water
- 2 Na 2 H2O gt 2 NaOH H2
- Cellular Respiration
- C6H12O6 6 O2 ? 6 CO2 6 H2O
16Project Two Two Minute Video on Biology
- Carbonation Reaction
- H2CO3 ? CO2 H2O
