  • 16th President of the United States.
  • Born February 12, 1809.
  • His most famous speech is called, Gettysburg
    Address.
  • He abolished slavery.

Childhood
  • Lincoln was born in Kentucky.
  • He was self-educated.
  • Lincoln was a local wrestler.
  • He avoided fishing and hunting because he did not
    like killing animals for food.

Rise to Fame
  • His political career began in 1832.
  • He was a member of the Whig Party.
  • He wanted to help improve poor areas along and
    near the Sangamon River to grow.

  • Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
