OBEYING LEADER IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE 63RD
BIRTHDAY OF SELANGOR KING

Let us improve our piety (taqwa) and good deeds
by obeying Allahs entire commands and omitting
all the forbidden.

In conjunction with the 63rd birthday of the
Royal Highness of Selangor King, as the citizens
of Selangor let us pray for our king to have a
longer life, always be in good health, safe and
have a prosperous life.

So that the our king will be in guidance, given
Hidayat and Inayah from Allah s.w.t and he can
rule this country in fairness and justice and
this country will be in peacefulness, harmony,
developed economy and blessed by Allah s.w.t..

In fact, good relationship between the king and
the society had been developed long time ago as a
consequence of Islamic leaderships and the Malay
Royal institution itself. We must defend this
royal institution in order to protect our culture
and our noble religion, Islam.

We should be thankful to Allah s.w.t because we
were given a king who was very concerned about
his people where he also is the leader for
Islamic religion in this country.

According to Ibnu Khaldun, a famous muslims
scholar on 8th century that A society cannot be
separated from a ruler. The existing of a ruler
such as Imam, Caliph, king and so on is a need
that must be fulfilled.

Allah s.w.t. says in Al-QuranAllah has
promised, to those among you who believe and work
righteous deeds, that He will of a surety, grant
them in the land, inheritance (of power), as He
granted it to those before them.
(An-Noor verse 55)

An Islamic government cannot be established
unless the leaders were being fully supported by
all of his society and loyal to him. Allah s.w.t.
says

O ye who believe! Obey Allah and obey the
Messenger and those charged with authority among
you.
(An-Nisa
verse 59)

Islam had given a huge responsibility to the
leaders, as a trust, that he must bring his
people to achieve peacefulness in this live and
the day here after, and because of his important
role, a Sufi scholar had been asked by his
student

O my teacher! If all of your pray will be
granted (Mustajab) by Allah, who will the first
person that you will pray for?

The teacher answered, If my pray is Mustajab,
the first person that I will pray for will surely
be the leader, because if the leader is good,
surely the people will also be good and living in
peacefulness.

This has shows that we must obey and be loyal to
our leader, as long as they did not instruct us
to commit vice. Obeying leaders is one of Allahs
commands. Every muslims must follow all of His
(Allah) command and forbid all of His
prohibitions.

Blessed muslims, Islam not only urged the muslims
to learn about Islam but they also must implement
it. Islam want the knowledge that had been
acquired will give direction to the muslims to
live according to the Islamic ways completely.

Prophet Muhammad s.a.w had pray so that Allah
will avoid him from detriment knowledge. O
Allah, I asked for Your help from detriment
knowledge, distracted heart (from You),
unsanctified knowledge and un granted wishes
(Dua).

Allah s.w.t. had given example that people who
had knowledge but they did not implement it is
just like a donkey which bringing a heavy burden,
as Allahs says

The similitude of those who were charged with
the (obligations of the) Mosaic Law, but who
subsequently failed in those (obligations), is
that of a donkey which carries huge tomes (but
understands them not). (Al-Jumua verse 5 )

For a true muslims, after learning to pray
(solat), he will performed it. Learned about
Khusyu (engross) and then he prays in
engross-ness. After learning about Zakat
(almsgiving), he will pay for it and except the
Halal and forbid the Haram.

This is what we called valuable knowledge. After
learning the Islam he will perform it and become
an idol to many people. Peoples will say to
him Look how beautiful the Islam is, is it the
manners of Islam is the greatest.

Blessed muslims, Based from history, Islam had
been accepted in Korea through a perfect example
(good manners) that had been showed by the
Turkish soldier who was also in war at that time.

When the time for them to perform their prayer,
the Turkish soldier will clean up, washed their
face, leg and hand and they will stand in a row
with engross-ness, good manners and discipline.

The Korean has been impressed with the manners
and action had asked the Turkish soldier Who
are you? They answered, We are muslims. The
Korean asked again, What is Islam?

So the Turkish had teach the Korean what they
know about Islam and thousand of Korean had
become muslims through the perfect example that
showed by the Turkish soldier.

This had proved that Islam acquired its victory
and spread through good manners. When muslims
enliven with Islam, he will be preferred by many
people and will attract them to Islam and that
how Islam spread in its earlier era.

Blessed muslims, Islam will look perfect if we
read it in books, but when peoples look Islam
based on some of its followers, they will surely
asked Why Islam did not give benefit to its
followers?

Islam urged its follower to live in its
regulations. Most of muslims countries nowadays
were involved in war because they did not obeying
the law and rules of Islam. Islam commands us to
obey our leader, but they were a certain groups
that making fun of their leader and it happen in
most of muslims countries.

Islam teaches it follower to become strong, but
why is the muslims live in weakness? Islam
teaches its follower to acquired knowledge, but
what we saw today is most of muslims countries
are still living in illiterate and
underdeveloped.

There was a time when a western guy learns Islam
and become a muslim by only reading books. He
always devoted to see Islam exist in muslims
house and he then determine to perform Hajj in
Baitullah Al-Haram.

When he performs Hajj in Mecca, he saw there is
harassment, abusing, chaos and some other things
that should not be done by muslims. He saw it
different from what he had read in his books, and
he says a very famous word

All praise to Allah, god who had introduce me to
Islam, before I know the muslims.

Because of that, the muslims must have good deeds
and noble manners regardless in word or actions
and must be according to Islamic laws.

And verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) are on an
exalted (standard of) character.
(Al-Qalam verse 4)

• O Allah,
• The most merciful god, we thank you for all the
  mercy and pleasure that you gave so that we can
  enhance and strengthen our Islamic country
  especially Selangor as a developed and peaceful
  country.

• O Allah,
• We beg you to increase our practice, brace up our
  unity, give us prosperous life, make us rich with
  good knowledge, flourish our soul with noble
  character, bring back our youngsters to the right
  path, save us from your biggest test such

• as huge flood, drought, epidemic, disputing
  between ourselves, poorness and anything else so
  that this country will be more prosperous and
  blessed.
