Title: ALDD ORDNANCE

1
ALD-D ORDNANCE
  • GWOT UPDATE

2
PERSONNEL
  • T/O
  • Operating 6 under core T/O in OIF w/ 6 additional
    in OEF.
  • Expect OEF bodies to return to OIF in Nov.
Limited T/O for OEF required highly qualified
    personnel.
  • Qty of FARP/FOBS
  • T/O built on 4 sites including Al Asad, but OEF
    made 5 sites.
  • Ops continues to consider and plan for 2
    additional sites.
  • MEF Billet in OIF
  • Continues to be utilized in IA capacity when
    deployed.
  • Recommendations
  • OEF sourcing must be separate from OIF T/O.
  • Leave T/O as is. All 6500 core and augment
billets must be filled, no cuts recommended due
    to multiple FARP/FOB COAs.
  • Keep MEF from deploying so they can focus on
    other issues.
  • CWO4 Andersen reports 1st week of Oct to MALS-39
for TAD EXCESS to MALS-16 FWD.

3
QUALS/LICENSES
  • QASOs - Important in respect to the amount of
sites manned. Numbers must be adequate.
  • Dash-2 - Critical at all sites, a minimum of 4
recommended at AA alone for ammo shipments
    throughout AOR 24/7.
  • MWSS Issues
  • Negative response to 241206Z Sep 07 Naval Message
requesting driver support for 8 MTVRs and 4
    EBFL/TRAMs.
  • Licensing through MWSS takes two weeks and
numerous logistics issues to work through.
  • MMV support MWSS deadlined both MMVs missed
    two ASR shipments before resolution.
  • MWSS wanted to add two MMVs to MAG T/E and have
    no responsibility for maintenance. MWSS
discovered we do not have echelon maintenance.
  • MTVR - Shortages of licensed drivers arriving.
  • MMV - CRITICAL - Commercial Forklift/TEREX
license is useless must have HE type quals
    (MMV/EBFL). QTY 10 minimum total.
  • SATS Loader/AM42M-2A Light Unit
  • Require at least 25 total I Level licensed.
  • SATS Loader for MV-22/Light Unit for Entry
    Control Point 1 (ASP Gate).

4
ASM ISSUES
  • MALS-16 was not ASM capable, lack administrators
and knowledge of system. Wing currently involved
    in training.
  • Lack of accessibility to ASM Web Site, bandwidth.
  • VMGR-352 in OIF currently running ASM on line, it
    works.
  • ASM Discs
  • ASM Files on Marines downloaded to a disc are not
complete. Missing info like physicals. Identified
    to Keyport. QA them!
  • If Marines come with a disc, they need a paper
copy of their Qual/Cert and previous 180 day
    training, not happening!
  • Discrepancies and missing scans has led to
creation of temporary MATMEPs to pass QA
    inspections.
  • Working through issues with lack of
    administrators.
  • Ordnance Handlers Physical/Explosive Drivers
Physical Cards, audiograms. Dont depend on ASM
    for these certs.

5

AWSE
  • AWSE Condition

    as is.

  • Can tailor down if necessary.
  • No ADU-876s in country

AAE STATUS (Cont.)

CREW SERVED GUN/LASERS
  • Current quantity is adequate
  • ISO container continues to serve as the Armory
  • Shelves made to keep weapons off the deck.
  • Butted against the vans for A/C and covered
externally with 3 thick sheet metal/Styrofoam
    for insulation.
  • LASERS used are GCP series and IZLIDs
  • Maintained at all squadrons, not in GITR
Squadrons attempted could not enter SNs at
    O-Level. I-Level entry?
  • AVIOS are serving as the LSSOS.

GUN POOL STATUS

IMRL
  • I Level IMRL
  • Hot Weather problem for CRALTS operation, most
checks have to be done at night.
  • Styrofoam insulation placed around vans to keep
    cooler.
  • TQG (Tactical Quiet Generators) added
reliability. Older generators lasted 3 days at
    best, lost many man hours.
  • Transfer Plan
  • LAMS Inventory to be conducted during turn over
    with IMRL reps present.
  • LALS III Conversion
  • 7 Complete, 1 remaining
  • Some minor issues at I Level with replenishing,
and with O- Level daily use. Both levels want
    LALS II back.
  • FWST training will resolve have routed this info
to John DeVries. FWD is preparing SEPCOR to
    address issues.

13
IMRL (Cont.)
  • O Level IMRL
  • Reliability a huge issue, IMRL turn around times
    poor.
  • Most gear has been there since the start
    (WSTS/TSEM).
  • Cal times up to 60 days.
  • Parts are hard to get (WSTS).
  • Swap of IMRL is suggested bring in new and
freshly calibrated IMRL for the O Level.
  • WSTS, TSEM, AWM-103s and AWM-102s.
  • Report failures to HHQ in addition to IMRL Reps.
  • GAU-21 Support Equipment
  • HMHs need to bring with them, unlike other IMRL.
  • 2 HMH Squadrons - only 1 Barrel Erosion Gauge.
  • Operator Kit 1 per A/C Armorer Kit/BEG 1 per
    3 A/C is allowance level.
  • MALS-16 FWD working with PMA-242 to correct but
must go through MALS CONUS for input into SERMIS
    then ship.
  • Crew Served Weapons Gages
  • CAL turn around times are long, normally
    forgotten.
