Keyboarding
We use

• All the Right Type (ATRT) Keyboarding Program

Body Position

• Sit up straight
• Feet flat on the floor (if possible)
• Face forward
• Arms in at side of body (adjust chair so this
  works for you)

Hand/Finger Position

• Fingers on Home Row
• Fingers positioned so G and H show
• Wrists upraised slightly above keyboard
• Fingers curved slightly over home row
• Pattern of fingering must be memorized

your keyboard to see this pattern.

Speed

• Goal for middle school students
• 70 of the class will reach 35 wpm.
• All the Right Type will give you your wmp as you
  finish lessons and tests.

Grading

• Body Position (except for feet placement)
• Finger Position --ALWAYS use keyboard covers
• Accuracy/speed--well use printouts from ATRT
• Progress -- on the curve (student with most
  lessons finished in the class gets an A)
• Memorize keyboard --quiz at end of semester
• Work habits/Attitude (must be working during the
  time we keyboard have a good attitude)

Behavior/Rules

• Begin keyboarding as soon as you come into the
  room. Instructor starts timer as soon as everyone
  begins keyboarding
• On task working--no need to talk during
  keyboarding
• Follow directions for posture and correct
  keyboarding rules
• Listen for timer to indicate keyboarding time is
  up
• No writing or drawing on the keyboard cover
