- City Guilds is the leading vocational awarding
body in the UK, awarding over 50 of all National
Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) - Over 1.9 million learners work towards one of the
Groups qualifications every year - Altogether the City Guilds Group awards just
short of 1.5 million certificates every year - The City Guilds group has an annual turnover of
nearly 100 million and employs around 800
people

- Former EastEnders mechanic, Ricky Butcher, had a
framed City Guilds certificate hanging in the
garage - Throughout World War II, it was business as usual
for our centres - during six years of conflict,
only one exam was cancelled due to enemy action - According to a consumer survey carried out in
2000, one in five households has a City Guilds
qualification - City Guilds has been offering plumbing
qualifications for over 100 years - 100 of craft plumbers in the UK have a
qualification jointly awarded by City Guilds

just 13 members of staff - now there are over
1000! - Trainee mechanics from Tengiz, Kazaksthan, fly

years in order to gain their City Guilds Level

to own its freehold in the City of London - On an average day over 3,400 people register for
a City Guilds qualification and 3,300 complete
