- Population increasing by 13 between 2010 and
2040 to over 990,000 - 64 African American, 18 White, and 12
Hispanic, 6 other - Over 30 have Bachelors Degree or higher
- Median age in Prince Georges County is 35.1
- Currently the two largest age cohorts in Prince
Georges County are 35-44 (15.7) followed by
45-54 (14.8) - Age shift - higher percentages in the middle to
older adult age range

- Median Income in West Sub Areas averages 54,000
per household, while East and South Sub Areas
average 74-95,000 per household - Some sub areas have high level of Spanish
speakers - 0ver 20 in Northwest A (national
average is 14) will continue to increase with
immigration - Median household income is higher in Prince
Georges County (68,270) than median income in
the U.S. (50,740)

- Top three sport activities for older adults
- Exercise walking, exercising with equipment, and
swimming - Trails, parks, and playgrounds are among the 5
most important community amenities when selecting
a home - Environmental programs are a trend nationally and
are growing in participation in Prince Georges
County - Afterschool programs have been proven to decrease
juvenile crime , drug use, and teen pregnancy as
well as improve standardized test scores

areas except South - Northwest B sub area has highest LOS Per Acre
Served in all categories - Not so when population density is factored in
varies among subareas - South has lowest LOS Per Acre Served in all
categories - SW has lowest in all categories but Fields when
density factored in - Central East has highest GRASP Index in all
categories but indoor - SW has lowest GRASP Index in all but Fields and
Trails - Southwest has lowest levels of service with
pockets of higher population density that may be
underserved - Access to Natural Areas good except for gap in
South sub area
