2Introduction and ITA Status
- ITA and SMA Roles and Responsibilities have been
incorporated into the July 05 ITA Implementation
Guide (thru efforts of SMA Directors) - The iTA is currently being modified to match the
Agency Management Model (ITA Rev B/C) - NPD1240.4 and NPR1240.1 have been updated and are
in a pre-NODIS review - ITA Budget has been established and will be
executed via Agency Service Pool - Warrant Status
- STWH 21 of 98 Agency Programs/Projects are
warranted - DTWH 34 of 50 Disciplines are warranted
- Additional 20 have been selected but not yet
warranted

- iTA owns all technical requirements originating
from the various engineering disciplines - Core Standards
- Project unique requirements
- Authority is around technical decisions affecting
safe and reliable operations (eg, human safety) - Independent of project funding and organizational
structure - Dependent on highly skilled engineering workforce
- Accountable during full life cycle
