Considerations and Typical ROI

• Storage costs are generally seen as expensive
  disk-based systems and are used without SIS
  implementations. An average cost of disk storage
  is 0.10/mb. This does not include the cost to
  maintain and control the data.
• 2. Mail servers versus clients, typically a
  client will generate about 18mb of email per day
  and the average mail box quota is 160mb.
  Therefore over time the size on a per mailbox
  ratio will grow requiring another method to
  maintain the increasing size of the mail. This is
  where PST files are commonly utilized.
• 3. Backup storage, the larger the email stores
  the longer the backup cycles and more media
  required. An average LTO tape can cost 50.00.
• 4. PST files can be very difficult to backup as
  they can be stored anywhere within a network or
  local client system.
