2Getting Started
- In Windows, go to the Start menu and click on
PowerPoint. - If PowerPoint is not in your Start menu, then you
have to look for Powerpnt.exe in MS Office folder
and install it.

8A Text Slide
- First add a title. A few words are fine.
- Then click to add text.
- Usually short phrases, it is rare to use complete
sentences. after each one. - It will automatically bullet them.

- The text should be a good size (24-32 font)
- It should be consistent (the same size on all
slides) - It should be in an appropriate color
- Contrasting to the background
- If the background is dark light text
- If the background is light dark text
10Picture Time
- Now lets try a Text and Clipart slide
- You would add you title and text just as in the
text slide. - Notice that the box for the text can change size,
you can increase, decrease or eliminate text
completely. - Now we can talk about pictures.

- You can get pictures 3 ways
- Off internet sites
- From Clip Art
- From a file (saved on a disk, etc.)

- Very easy
- Find a site
- Choose an image
- Using your mouse - right click
- Once the box opens ? Copy
- Go to the slide you want the picture on ? Use the
right click ? Paste

- Double click on the clip art icon
- Search for a picture
- Click your selected picture,
- click on insert
14Pictures From Files
- Go to ? Insert ? Picture ?From File
- Select the picture file and click Insert
- Position and re-size the picture
- This can be used if you wish to scan a picture.

- To add a blank slide
- Add a new slide
- Select blank slide
- Add as many as you need
- Now lets turn the slide Black.
- It is less distracting that way

- Go to the slide you want black.
- Select Format ? Background
- Choose the small arrow at the bottom of the box.
- Click on the Black colored box
- Select the Omit background graphics from this
slide - Click Apply do NOT select Apply to All

- Design templates are predetermined and are easy
to use, but they do limit your creativity. - Format Slide Color Scheme takes more time, but
you can get exactly what you desire.
