• Pau Broadband Country (PBC) wired and wireless
  networks
• Paulywood a new  intelligent town 
• NanoValley a post-industrial complex based on
  nanotechnologies, and so on
• Pau Project a new ecosystem

First phase PBC

• Launch in April 2002 with a budget of
• 35 millions
• FTTH 100 megabits/s for 30/month (opening in
  january 2004).
• The network belongs to the local authority
• Wifisation of all the town (next year)
• 80 of households and 100 of companies will be
  connected in 3 years

Second phase Paulywood

• The first project is intends to create 5 to
  10.000 new jobs in 5 years.
• This means, we have to build new houses, new
  schools and offices, new roads, etc.
• Why not create an  intelligent new town ?
• We launch the Paulywood project inside the Pau
  district

  /) IP management of water, energy, sewage, and
  waste

• A new town that uses renewable energy (solar,
  full cell, geothermics)

• We think that the future is non-industrial (death
  of the fossil economy )
• Future is nanotech, biotech, robot, .
• Based on PBC and Paulywood, we plan to create a
  nanotech complex !

• 3 to 4 labs new materials, mems, etc.
• Propose to nanotech, biotech companies to come in
  Bearn (the Pau Region)

Some political ideas

• Information Society need broadband and
  dematerialization (wifi)
• Private sector is unable to bring economically
  broadband infrastructure to all people today
• So, the public sector has to build all over
  Europe an DWDM/GigaEthernet/IP fiber/wifi
  networks
• Private companies have to bring services on these
   new roads

Its just like a highway

• If the public sector doesnt build this new
  network no future development
• And as the  fossil economy  disappears in the
  next 20 years
• Then the only solution will be to wait for
  American broadband applications and buy them !
• In this case, what happens to our European
• culture ? Our jobs ? Our companies ?

• 100 megabits/s for 30 for each European in 2010
• Thats a new political slogan
• To build the new E-urope
• And dont forget the new Hollywood is perhaps
  in Pau
