MOTHERHOOD IS A HIGH CALLING

• John 1621-22 "A woman, when she is in labor,
  has sorrow because her hour has come but as soon
  as she has given birth to the child, she no
  longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a
  human being has been born into the world.
  Therefore you now have sorrow but I will see you
  again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy
  no one will take from you.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF MOTHERHOOD

• Not every woman should be a mother because with
  the joy of becoming a mother comes great
  responsibility.
• Provide for her childrens physical needs.
• Protect her children.
• Indeed everyone who quotes proverbs will use
  this proverb against you Like mother, like
  daughter! (Ezekiel 1644).

• Our responsibility to our children is to live the
  kind of life before them that would lead them
  to
• Love, honor and obey us.
• Love, honor and respect others.
• Love, honor, respect and obey God.

BEING A WIFE AND MOTHER MUST COME FIRST IN YOUR
LIFE

• Titus 24-5 that they admonish the young women
  to love their husbands, to love their children,
  to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good,
  obedient to their own husbands, that the word of
  God may not be blasphemed.

Love their husbandslove their children
Homemakers domestically inclined
(Strong). caring for the home (Wuest).
That the word of God may not be blasphemed.

TEACH YOU CHILDREN THE BIBLE

• 2 Timothy 315 and that from childhood you
  have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to
  make you wise for salvation through faith which
  is in Christ Jesus.
• 2 Timothy 15 when I call to remembrance the
  genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first
  in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice,
  and I am persuaded is in you also.

• Teach your children to marry properly.
• 1 Corinthians 618 Flee sexual immorality. Every
  sin that a man does is outside the body, but he
  who commits sexual immorality sins against his
  own body.
• Hebrews 134 Marriage is honorable among all, and
  the bed undefiled but fornicators and adulterers
  God will judge.

• Teach your children to marry someone who is
  eligible for marriage.
• Matthew 532 But I say to you that whoever
  divorces his wife for any reason except sexual
  immorality causes her to commit adultery and
  whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits
  adultery.

• Teach your children to wait until they are mature
  enough to marry.
• Immaturity is one of the main reasons for
  divorce.
• Need to be ready emotionally, physically,
  spiritually and financially.

• Teach your children that the ability to have
  children is not what makes a good parent.
• What makes a good parent is a study of, love of,
  and application of the word of God.

The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.
The mothers heart is the childs school room.
If you reform the world from its errors and
vices, begin by enlightening its mothers.

THE AMAZING LOVE ANDSELF-SACRIFICE OF MOTHERS

• John 1925-27 - Now there stood by the cross of
  Jesus His mother, and His mother's sister, Mary
  the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When
  Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple
  whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother,
  "Woman, behold your son!" Then He said to the
  disciple, "Behold your mother!" And from that
  hour that disciple took her to his own home.

• Not just on mother's day, but every day!
• Ephesians 61-2 Children, obey your parents in
  the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father
  and mother, which is the first commandment with
  promise

Dont aim to be an earthly saint With eyes fixed
on a star, Just try to be the fellow, Your mother
thinks you are.

CONCLUSION

• If you are not on good terms with your mother,
  why not make a special effort to be reconciled to
  her.
• If you have failed to express your appreciation
  to her do so today and everyday.
• Life is too short not to express your love to
  someone as precious as your mother.
• Let us love them, forgive them, respect them,
  help them and be thankful to them.

GODS PLAN OF SALVATION

• Hear the gospel (Romans 1017).
• Believe that Jesus is the Son of God (John 824).
• Repent of your sins (Luke 133).
• Confess your faith in Christ (Acts 837).
• Be baptized for the remission of sins (Acts
  238).
• Live a faithful Christian life (Revelation 210).
• As an erring child, repent, confess sin, pray for
  forgiveness.
