4BIOTIC FACTORS TO LOOK FOR
- Animal burrows
- Woodpecker holes
5Bracket Fungi may also be seen
6Look for the white yellow threads of fungi
under the rotting logs
As well as moss that may be growing on the logs
7Other decomposers such as
- Millipedes
- Centipedes

- May also be found!
8Various mushrooms, puff balls and lichens may be
found.
as well as salamanders, baby spiders and
insect larvae.
A rotting log provides a home for many!!
9Even small mammals may be found in or under a
rotting log!

10So.be aware of all of the BIOTIC factors that
may be found in or around your rotting log
