Alesana is
  • Alesana is a scream-core band that formed in
    2004.
  • They began their careers as musicians in
    Baltimore, Maryland with founding members Dennis,
    Shawn, and Steven.
  • They finished up their line up in Raleigh, North
    Carolina in 2005 with Jeremy, Patrick, and Adam.

Alesanas Successes
  • They were signed to Fearless Records in 2007
  • They have released two albums. They released one
    independently and one on Fearless Records.
  • Their album On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax
    has unique lyrics. The lyrics have been heavily
    inspired by Greek mythology. The hit single for
    the CD is titled Ambrosia. The definition of
    ambrosia is the food of the gods, which was often
    thought to confer immortality.
  • They have been on five independent tours and
    headlined three out of the five.
  • They were featured on the Punksmart.com stage for
    The Vans Warped Tour 2007.
  • They are currently featured on the homepage of
    www.HotTopic.com for the 2007 holiday season.

Why does Alesana need to come to the South?
  • A survey was conducted in three cities to see
    where the band was most popular.
  • The results of the survey concluded that Alesana
    needs to work on their reputation in the South.
    In Birmingham, Alabama only 12 out of 100 people
    knew who the band was. In Seattle, Washington 85
    out of 100 people knew and in Los Angeles,
    California 90 out of 100 people had heard of the
    band.

  • During the tours they missed 3 out of 5 shows.
  • This reflects negatively on the bands image.
  • These shows were missed due to their tour bus
    breaking down and a miscommunication with one
    venue.

  • The target audience for this tour would include
    people who are 15 through 25 years of age, like
    hard rock music, and like to go to rock shows.
    The target audience would be fans of successful
    southern based bands that could possibly tour
    with Alesana. These bands include the following
    Anberlin (Orlando, FL), Norma Jean (Atlanta, GA),
    Yellowcard (Jacksonville, Florida), Underoath
    (Tampa, FL), or Jonezetta (Jackson, Mississippi).
    This audience will also be easy to reach through
    the social networking website www.myspace.com.

Strategies and Tactics
  • Add more friends to Alesanas myspace page and
    update the bands homepage.
  • Form a street team.
  • Make and distribute posters. These posters would
    need to be distributed in areas such as bars, on
    school campuses, the venues Alesana will be
    performing at, music stores, coffee shops, and
    instrument shops.
  • Make and distribute commercials.

    profitable with the right image management.
