Who is on the team?
  • Now you are the body of Christ and individually
    members of it. And God has appointed in the
    church first apostles, second prophets, third
    teachers, then deeds of power, then gifts of
    healing, forms of assistance, various kinds of
    tongues.

    the lowest rank, and the leader should be like a

1-Set Time and Place to Meet
  • The majority rules and moves!
  • Select a scribe.
  • Select a facilitator.
  • Select a contact person.
  • NOTE Make regular and specific reports

2-Define Goal/Mission of the Team
  • Dont assume.
  • Make it short.
  • Make it memorable.
  • Repeat it often.

3-What are the Gifts/Resources
  • Why did you join this team?
  • What are you bringing to the team?
  • How can the team expand its resources?

4-What is History of Ministry?
  • What has already been accomplished?
  • What has already been attempted?
  • Dont play the blame game.
  • Dont play the hero worship game.

5-What is possible?
  • Evaluations NOT allowed yet.
  • What is continuing to work today?
  • What are other churches doing?
  • What is working in the community?
  • What are your wildest dreams?
  • Brief evaluations NO final decisions.

6-Stop and Pray
  • Resist your urge to fix it!
  • It is NOT about us!
  • Follow the Spirit for time of prayer/decision.
  • Dont allow prayer to be an excuse.

7-Agree on an Action Plan
  • Write out specific actions.
  • Example Grief Ministry Team
  • Team member will call or visit immediate family
    member to determine needs of family during time
    of bereavement.
  • Include decision making criteria.
  • Example Hospital Visitation Team
  • Team Facilitator will contact member on call
    within __ hours of notification of person
    hospitalized.
  • Criteria time, places, amounts, contents,
    number of people, etc.
