Title: Terrorism
1Terrorism
This is our Terrorism project by Joseph
Bluck, Paul Stelges, Brendan OLeary, Christopher
Neeson, John Kelly, Eamonn Kelly, Christopher
Woods.
2What Is Terrorism?
We discussed the term and define it as violence
or the threat of violence against specific
groups, committed for political or religious
reasons. It brings fear or terror into a
community.
3What causes terrorism?
- We think that terrorism is caused by a number of
reasons, e.g. - Poverty (people rob banks to provide food for
there families.) - Unequal distribution of land/wealth. (people who
have more authority and power over others and
force them to do things against their will.) - Discrimination (sectarianism, racism, favouritism
.) - Sectarianism is giving negative view about
someone religion and background.
(catholic/protestant hatred between each other)
4How does Terrorism affect our lives?
- Terrorism has existed for centuries as a means of
making a government or group aware of a desire
that they have to change something by creating
destruction and fear. -
- Many people are in fear to go out in their daily
lives when thinking they could be killed around
the corner. In Belfast for example we are afraid
to visit a different community because of
religious issues. - Since September 11th there has been a whole new
upgrade in American security. Airports have
gotten new security procedures. Also, on the
roads, new toll booths have been made to help
reduce illegal immigrants trying to get into
America.
