Memories From Hard Bargain

When we finally got to Hard Bargain we were very
excited. We were also very shocked, because of
the beautiful sight, a blue sky, green fields,
and animals.

That evening we took a hay ride actually a straw,
ride. We got to see an Indian burial ground, the
prettiest horses youve ever seen, and my
favorite, the sunset. Did you know that the
Indians thought their land was sacred land?

Here is April milking a cow. I think she is
thinking, Do I really have to do this? I
wonder how how much milk she is going to get.
Guess what? Cows have four stomachs.

Heres Amy milking a cow. She looks like she has
done this before. This is a daily job that
people with dairy cows have to do each morning.
Moo-Moo

Amy and some friends were feeding the goats. I
know one of them wont leave her alone, or maybe
they are just having a staring contest. Baby
goats are called kids. That is why it is polite
to call children, children instead of kids.

Yes! Lunch time. Today we are having chicken,
beans, rolls, mashed potatoes, fruit, hot dogs,
and chocolate milk. It was really good, I wish I
could have some more. We also had gram crackers
with some butter we made with cows milk. It is
easy to make butter, you just put cows milk and
some cream into a container and shake it for a
while. The butter turns out to be very good.

Now, Kaytlin M., Lara, and I are petting
Buttercup the cow. She just had a baby. We were
going to milk her but she wouldnt come into the
little shack where they put the cows to milk.
She would be a good cow to milk because when cows
have babies they produce a bunch of milk.

Taris, Alexis, Katie, Kelsey, Kelsey, and Katie
are in an assembly line doing each others hair.
I bet that was fun. I wonder if they will ever go
to sleep. Others were playing chess, and Yatzee,
and watching Flubber. We did this in our free
time. Everyday at the end of the day we would
write in our books, do each others hair, play
games, and watch movies.

Here I am going through the obstacle coarse. You
had to try to get through a whole without ringing
the bell. If you ring the bell everybody on the
other side had to go back. I didnt ring the
bell and Im glad.

Here is Kelsey going through the obstacle
course. I learned that you can do everything
better and faster using team work when we did
these challenges. I hope she didnt ring the
bell.

Kristen and her dad are taking a snooze in the
warm sunshine. They look very comfortable. I
hope the table bugs dont get them. They were
probably tired because we just got back from a
long hike. We caught fish, leeches, and
dragonfly nymphs.

Here are my Mom and I. We are watching some of
my classmates play a game. It was called We Are
Going On A Picnic. The most important or helpful
thing to know that I learned was that we should
appreciate our environment and not liter because
it all ends up in the Potomac River.

the challenges made me speak my mind.
