How to have a good rehearsal
  • LISTEN uses the same letters as SILENT
  • Use your ears, not your mouth
  • Watch
  • We respect the podium
  • Come to class prepared
  • Practice at home, not here
  • Bring all the materials you need
  • Instrument, pencil, music, etc.

2) Room Procedures
  • In Classroom
  • By the scheduled time
  • May not be able to stop at your locker
  • In Seats
  • After instrument is out
  • Begin warming up quietly
  • Class begins
  • When Mr. Stenzel steps on podium

3) Instruments
  • Always kept in the band room
  • Never in lockers or classrooms
  • Bring it at the start of the school day
  • Take it home every Friday
  • Practice five days each week
  • Fri, Sat, Sun
  • Only need it home two more days

4) Band Etiquette
  • I will
  • Come in with a positive attitude others count
    on me and I count on others
  • Be to all lessons on time
  • Respect others I will treat them like I would
    like to be treated.
  • Make the best choices I can.
  • Have fun! It is my choice to have a good time.

  • 5 days/week - 30 minutes each time
  • Turn in practice records at weekly lesson

  • This is your way to make band an enjoyable
    experience for everyone
  • Good attitude is shown through
  • encouraging comments to other band members
  • not complaining
  • willingness to help
  • Good effort is shown through
  • consistent practicing
  • focused concentration in rehearsals

NOTE on GRADING
  • Although no single grade is given for concerts,
    attendance is mandatory for all students. Much
    like a final project in any other class, concerts
    are a culminating facet of the program and thus
    any missed concert will lower a students grade
    one full letter for that quarter.

  • Different for each instrument
  • List is found in handbook or on web
  • Please make sure you have all needed supplies

  • 2 each year
  • School money raised through fundraisers can be
    applied to individual student accounts
