Grant Writing 101
  • Financial status statement
  • Start early
  • Identify the right funding source
  • Follow the grant guidelines exactly as stated
  • Obtain IRB approval in advance if possible
  • Avoid redundancy write clearly and concisely
  • Proof separately for spelling, grammar content
  • Gather additional required documents
  • Be patient, it can take 4-6 months for review
  • If rejected, inquire as to reason
  • Fail often to succeed sooner!
