  • Iran is developing nuclear weapons illegally.
  • Iran threatens the United States.
  • Iran threatens Israel.
  • Iran must be stopped.

The Current State of Iran
  • Iran possesses the ability to produce
    civilian-grade nuclear material (for energy
    purposes)
  • They are quickly approaching a time when they
    will be able to produce weapons-grade nuclear
    material (for use in a nuclear missile)
  • They already posses the Shihab-3 Missile an ICBM
    (Inter-continental Ballistic Missile) which has a
    range of almost 1300 miles and is capable of
    delivering a devastating strike to Israel.
  • The Shihab-3 is capable of carrying a nuclear
    warhead with it

The Threat Iran Poses
  • In addition to Israel and other US allies, the
    250,000 American troops stationed in the Middle
    East are within range of Irans missiles.
  • Iran founded, currently funds, arms, and provides
    sanctuary for Hizbollah, the terrorist group that
    has killed the most Americans outside of Al Queda
    as well as the recent breakout of war between
    Lebanon and Israel.

How can you as a USYer help?
  • Talk to your Regional Israel Affairs VP about
    becoming an AIPAC trained student activist.
  • Distribute the Block the Bomb campaign at
    Regional or Chapter events. (See USY Website for
    a copy of the BtB campaign)
  • Gather signatures from friends in your community
    and USY Chapter.
  • Talk to your parents to make sure they are aware
    of Irans threat to Israel.
  • As your principal if you can distribute the
    Block the Bomb campaign through out your high
    school.

Our Petition Statement
  • We the undersigned, as conscious members of
    United Synagogue Youth group of Conservative
    Judaism, acting as American and Jewish leaders,
    recognize the growing threat of Iran's nuclear
    program to Israel and the world. We firmly urge
    the United States government to immediately take
    action with the purpose of helping the
    International Atomic Energy Agency to refer Iran
    to the United Nations Security Council to halt
    the development of Nuclear Weapons."
