Jointer Safety Operation
  • The jointer is used to machine an edge or a
    surface of material before gluing or to finish
    rough stock.

Pre-operation Safety
  • Before operating, be sure that the blades are
    sharp and not damaged.
  • Be sure the hambone guard works properly.

Pre-operation Safety
  • Before operating make any necessary adjustments
    on the fence.
  • The fence can be tilted for angles and can be
    moved back and forth.

  • Before operating make adjustment for depth of cut
    using the adjustment wheel and the gauge.
  • Max. cut for jointing is 1/8in.
  • Max. cut for surfacing is 1/16in.

  • Maintain a 4in. Safety margin.

  • Always wear safety glasses or shield when
    operating the jointer.
  • Keep your eyes on your work, do not be

    sure that you have your instructors approval.
