Main Idea

• At the first night in the Amos household Bud and
  Todd got in a fist fight.
• Bud got out of the shed and ran away to the
  library.
• In the morning he went in the library and found
  out who he was looking was not there.
• After that Bud ran away to Grand Rapids to find
  his father.
• Bud thought that Herman E. Calloway was his
  father.
• Herman E. Calloway was his grandfather. Main
  idea Bud is looking for his father.

Theme

• The theme of the story is not to lie. If you do
  you will end up in a bigger problem just as Bud
  did. He lied to Lefty Lewis about Herman E.
  Calloway was his dad.

Plot

• Bud lives in a home .
• Bud goes to live with the Amos family.
• Bud gets locked up in the Amos shed.
• Bud gets out of the shed and makes it to the
  library.
• Bud goes to look for his father.

Setting

• When Bud stayed outside the library there
  were a bunch of trees. So it kind of looked like
  the woods. They were Christmas trees. Bud really
  slept there. It must have very hard for Bud. It
  would have been hard for me.

Characters

• Bud Bud is black with short black hair.
  Bud is brave ,smart ,and reliable. Bud is also
  the main character in this story.
• Mr. Calloway This person is tall and
  wide. He is mean ,grumpy ,and cold hearted. He is
  Buds grandfather.
• Miss Thomas
  
  Miss Thomas is the most
  beautiful women in the world to Bud. She is nice
  , warm hearted ,and the opposite of Mr. Calloway.
