Bud is trying to find his dad

• Bud Not buddy is a book based on a true story. It
  is about this kid named bud who lives and a home,
  He want to find his dad so he is on his way to
  Grand Rapids.
• 1 Bud goes to the Amoses to stay.
• 2 Bud gets beat up by the Amoses son Todd to
  he decides to sneak out and leave.
• 3 He goes to talk to Mrs. Hill at the library
  but she moved.
• 4 He decides to go find his dad.
• 5 He finds his grandpa instead of his dad.
• 6 He ends up staying with his grandfather and
  plays his grandfathers band.

• If your parents have passed or leave you in a
  home dont leave a home or a family because you
  could get lost.

Events

• Bud Is on his way to grand rapids and he get
  picked up in a car.
• The man who picked him up name is Lefty Lewis .
• Lefty Lewis drives Bud to go see Herman E.
  Calloway (Buds dad He thinks)
• Bud goes to see Herman E. Calloway but Herman
  said your not my son.
• Bud find out Herman is his grandfather.

Setting

• This is where Bud thought that they still had
  windows he could get through but they had bars
  across them. He decides to just sleep outside
  under a tree. He had to wake up in the morning to
  go eat at the mission but he woke up late. Bud
  asked where Mrs. Hill was and the lady at the
  desk of the library said she had moved to a
  different state, so he got information where she
  was.

• Bud
• Bud is a kid about 11-12 years old. He is skinny
  from not eating. He is Black. He is very tough
  and strong. He doesnt cry very much anymore. He
  is the main character in the story because he
  tells the story. He is in search to find his
  father.
• Herman E. Calloway
• Mr. Calloway is big man. He is average height
  and he looks a lot like Bud. His face looks old.
  He is kind of mean because it takes him time for
  him to get used to people. He looks brave and
  scary (like he will be you up.) He doesnt like
  for people to see him cry. He relates in the
  story because Bud is searching for him
  practically the whole story.
• Angela Janet Caldwell
• She is tall with blonde hair. She is average
  weight and always wore this pink scarf. She was
  very nice and gentle to Bud. She never punished
  Bud even when he was misbehaving. She was the mom
  of bud. She was important in the story because me
  wouldnt know why Bud was in a home.

• Trousers Man, my first pair of trousers! From
  this sentence it means pants. The real definition
  is a type of pants.
• Maam That sounds real good, maam. In this
  sentence it means a nice way to talk to a lady.
  Used as a form of polite address for a woman.
• Scolding As soon as they were a little bit down
  the hall I could hear her start scolding her
  father again. In this sentence it means to give a
  lecture. To reprimand or criticize harshly and
  usually angrily.
• Reputation Hermans got a reputation for being
  no-not nonsense mean. It means based on the
  sentence is like his self esteem or popularity
  level. Its actual meaning is overall quality or
  character as seen or judged by people in general.
• Noggin Look at this noggin, I rest my case. I
  Think it means brain or head. The real meaning
  means a small mug or cup.

• The Great Depression began in late 1929 and
  lasted for about a decade.
• The Great Depression threatened peoples jobs,
  savings, and homes in this period of time.
• The Great Depression was when the stock markets
  dropped rapidly and some families had no money.
  Factories, stores, and banks were closed which
  made some people jobless and homeless.
• Many families with no money depended on charities
  or food drives for them to live.
• Herbert Hoover was in office when the Great
  Depression was going on.
