Our Challenge Secondary Schools
  • Not enough equipment to give to all teachers
    interested
  • Teacher buy-in
  • Equipment not being utilized
  • Time to plan and implement new applications
  • Stipulations placed upon us by the state (blocked

    each school
  • Resources to maintain and improve technology

  • The main challenges of teaching from a web site
    are
  • Extra time for planning instructional materials
    and posting them to the web site

Project
  • The Electronic Syllabus Project is an attempt to
    bring multimedia into the secondary classrooms in
    the Seaford School District.
  • Teachers who volunteer for the project aim to
    digitize most of what they do in the classroom
    and teach from their website on a daily basis.

Our Challenge Elementary Schools
  • Communication - 4 different Elementary schools
    West Seaford, Central, Blades and Fredrick
    Douglass.
  • As of 10/31/07 every teacher received 1
    Multimedia teaching station in each classroom
    (computer, projector, cart, document camera).
  • Lack of Teacher Confidence - teachers lack of
    knowledge about technology.
  • Lack of time for planning and collaboration
  • Limited in computer labs (computer labs and
    computer carts)
  • Vision to step away from the traditional
    activities.

    classroom (virtual field trips, web quests,
    Google earth, educational blogging and web
    conferencing)
