What is High Altitude?
  • Anything above 5000ft

Acclimatization
  • Takes place above 5000ft
  • Normal to light PT and work
  • APFT cannot be given 30 days of acclimatization
  • May experience Mountain Sickness

Mountain Sickness Symptoms
  • Headache
  • Rapid Pulse
  • Nausea
  • Loss of appetite
  • Inability to sleep

De-acclimatization
  • Returning to 5000ft and below
  • Light PT and work
  • Up to 30 days
  • APFT cannot be given until 30 days
