Title: INTERGERS

1
INTERGERS
  • WHAT ARE THEY ????

2
INTEGERS ARE------
  • THE WHOLE NUMBERS ie 1,2,3,4,5
  • AND THEIR OPPOSITES ie -1,-2,-3,-4...

3
INTERGERS
  • INTERGERS GREATER THAN 0 ARE POSITIVE INTERGERS.
  • Integers less than 0 are negative integers. (see
    number line)

4
Integers
  • TWO NUMBERS ARE OPPOSITES IF, ON THE NUMBER
LINE, THEY ARE THE SAME DISTANCE FROM ZERO AND ON
OPPOSITE SIDES OF ZERO.(see number line)

5
SEE IT HAPPEN
  • USING A RULER AND PENCIL DRAW A NUMBER LINE . USE
THE ONE ON THE WALL AS A PATTERN. SPACE THE
NUMBERS 1/4 INCH APART ON YOUR NUMBER LINE.

6
YOUR NUMBER LINE
  • NUMBER TO TWENTY ON EACH OF THE RIGHT AND LEFT
    SIDE OF ZERO

7
Comparing and Ordering Integers
8
Compare and Order
  • To compare or order integers, think of a number
line. The number farther to the right on the
    number line is greater.

9
ABSOLUTE VALUE OF INTEGERS
  • THE ABSOLUTE VALUE OF A NUMBER IS THE DISTANCE
THE NUMBER IS FROM ZERO ON THE NUMBER LINE.

10
ABSOLUTE VALUE
  • 5 IS 5 UNITS FROM ZERO
  • -5 IS 5 UNITS FROM ZERO
  • THE ABSOLUTE VALUE OF 5 IS 5
  • THE ABSOLUTE VALUE -5 IS 5
  • 5 5 -5 5
  • MEANS ABSOLUE VALUE

11
Adding Integers
  • To add integers, think of a number line. Locate
the first addend on the number line. Move right
if the second addend is positive. Move left if
    the second addend is negative.
  • Example Solve T 4 (-10) Start at 4. Since -10
is negative move left 10 units. So T -6

12
Rules for Adding integers
  • The sum of two positive integers is positive.
  • The sum of two negative integers is negative.
  • The sum of a positive and a negative integer is
positive if the positive integer has the greater
absolute value. Negative if the negative integer
    has the greater absolute value.

13
Subtracting Integers
  • An integer and its opposite are the same distance
from 0 on a number line. The integers 5 and -5
are opposites. The sum of an integer and its
    opposite is 0.
  • 5-5 0
  • To subtract an integer, add its opposite.
  • Example Solve T 6 - 9. T 6 (-9) To
    subtract 9 add -9. T -3

14
Multiplying Integers
  • The product of two positive integers is positive.
    5(8) 40
  • The product of two negative integers is positive.
    (-6)(-9) 54
  • The product of a positive integer and a negative
    integer is negative. (-4)(7) -28

15
Dividing Integers
  • If two integers have the same sign, their
    quotient is positive. 560/8 70, -120/-6 20
  • If two integers have different signs their
    quotient is negative. -75/5 -15, 99/-33 3

16
Competition
  • Summarize competition
  • Outline your companys competitive advantage

17
Goals Objectives
  • 5-Year Goals
  • State specific measurable objectives
  • State Market share objectives
  • State revenue/profitability objectives

18
Financial Plan
  • High-level financial plan that defines financial
model, pricing assumptions, and reviews yearly
expected sales and profits for the next three
    years.
  • Use several slides to cover this material
    appropriately

19
Resource Requirements
  • Technology Requirements
  • Personnel Requirements
  • Resource Requirements
  • financial, distribution, promotion,etc.
  • External Requirements
  • products/services/technology required to be
    purchased outside company

20
Risks Rewards
  • Risks
  • Summarize risks of proposed project
  • Addressing Risk
  • Summarize how risks will be addressed
  • Rewards
  • Estimate expected pay-off, particularly if
    seeking funding

21
Key Issues
  • Near Term
  • Isolate key decisions and issues that need
    immediate or near-term resolution
  • Long Term
  • Isolate issues needing long-term resolution
  • State consequences of decision postponement
  • If you are seeking funding, state specifics

22
