14NSS curriculum - French
- The new NSS French syllabus is based on the
Cambridge AS Level exam and comprises of the
following components - Component 1 Speaking (20mins)
- 30 of final mark
- Component 2 Reading and Writing (1h45m)
- 50 of final mark
- Component 3 Essay (1h30m 250-400 words)
- 20 of final mark
15NSS curriculum Objectives - French
- Being able to understand and respond to texts in
French, drawn from a variety of sources such as
magazines, newspapers, reports, books - Being able to express oneself in French
accurately in spoken and written forms. - Select information and present it in an organized
and logical manner.
16Selection Criteria
- Students must develop the habit of reading,
understanding and analyzing all kinds of
documents in French (not only books). - Students need to express themselves in French not
only in class but among themselves to develop the
fluidity thats required at this level. - Students need to know more about the culture and
customs of French speaking countries other than
France (e.g. Canada, Tunisia,) - Students need to be able to talk about a variety
of topics in relevance to the topics set for the
Final exam.
