- Broken anode wire in OROC 00
- Clearly caused by melting
- It is still unclear, how this can happen
- Studies with a test sector in preparation

- Exchange of feet of FEE frames of neighboring
sectors by smaller versions to allow removal of

7Optimizing OROC Noise
- OROC corners were known to show higher noise,
typically up to 5 ADC cts with the grounding
scheme as tested in the lab. - In the lab never tested with all FEC installed
- IROCs dont show corner noise
- Study optimizing the grounding scheme on one
sector - New scheme
- 18 thicker grounding cables in the OROC edges
- 8 cables omitted in center
- noise reduced to center value for random signals
- Test of this optimized scheme on another sector
- Implementation in a 2-day heroic effort of
Lucianos team

quite long) to allow moving out of DF - Packaging

- Complicated for two reasons
- Allowed deformation of the DF lt3mm
- Two TPC feet kept floating on hydraulic jacks to
ensure NO deformation of TPC - Limit of movement TPC vs SSW 3mm (FEE cables to
ROC) - Lowering onto four posts always with coupled
hydraulics - Clearance of DF to ground on crane in SXL2 not
sufficient for trailer ? intermediate position on
ground with hydraulics for lifting to trailer
height - DF deforms easily if not supported level ? manual
corrections during trailer transport
