Design Criteria

• Voice as medium.
• Uses a realistic technology for the near future.
  
• Uses a formal language suitable for the context
• Could be produced on site for economical reasons.
• The apparel will communicate the Latin culture
  through its esthetics
• Retail price and air time reduced to minimum

• Universal communication system for Latin America
• Bilateral democratic media
• Minimal infrastructures and maintenance costs.

• User-friendly interface and simple functions.

The Pager

• One piece of communication that is very popular
  these days for those who cant afford a cell
  phone but need to be reachable at all times is
  the pager. It is a radio tuned to one station.
  The radio transmitter broadcasts signals over a
  specific frequency. Each pager has a CAP code
  (Channel Access Protocol) that allows it to
  listen for its unique code. When a broadcasted
  signal is addressed to that CAP code, the pager
  rings.

The Two-Way Radio

• The Walkie-talkie, or two way radio, is
  making a strike back on the market because it
  allows groups of people to communicate over short
  distances and the air time is always free. It is
  a transmitter that can send radio waves to
  another receiver tuned to the same frequency.

Symbiosis

• Some animals take advantage of one another
  in order to fulfill specific needs this is what
  we call symbiosis.
• This picture shows the remora and the
  shark in symbiosis.
• This bionic concept took me a step further
  and I came to combine the pager and the
  walkie-talkie in a symbiosis manner. This way we
  get the best out of the each one to make a
  communication device of performance.
