Making Cultural Clusters: New Strategies for Culture-led Urban Redevelopment Dr. CHEN, Yun-Chung Assistant Professor, Division of Social Science, HKUST
Africa is considered to be the cradle of civilization. It is the birthplace of humanity's first societies. The people of Africa have a diverse range of religions and customs, which are mirrored in the many African culture traditions they practise. A wedding ritual is the most important cultural practise there is. These events are engrossing not just in terms of religion and theology, but also in terms of family and society. In essence, they symbolise the coming together of two families or clans.
Culture of any kind can be grounding and comforting, creating a home for nourishment and rules for understanding ourselves. When I began trying to get my film made, the confines of “African Culture and Traditions” seemed to suggest that if a black movie weren’t broadly comedic, a historical epic tragedy, or a street story, there would be no audience for it.

Visible and Invisible helps students better understand the bedrock beliefs of black African culture Traditions in America. Students read valuable and foundational theory through carefully selected articles, critically analyze famous and lesser-known forms of black African culture, and learn how appropriation and performance have rendered certain aspects of black culture invisible. The text underscores how the omission of relevant teachings about African Americans continues the injustices and racial inequality experienced in America.

The northern and southern parts of Nigeria can be regarded parts of western Sudan and the Guinea Coast, respectively; but, because to the abundance of evidence for a 2,000-year artistic history, it is more convenient to treat Nigeria independently. People living in the Niger and Benue basins, the mountainous regions of the Jos Plateau in the center of the area, and Adamawa to the east have a wide range of Nigeria Art Work and sculptural traditions.
Some Nigerian Art serves as entertainment, while others have political or ideological significance, while others are used in rituals, and yet others have aesthetic value. Art Work in Nigeria frequently incorporates many or all of these elements. Similarly, there are full-time and part-time artists; there are artists who are part of the political establishment and those who are shunned and hated; and some art forms may be created by anyone, while others require the dedication of a professional.
