Group Project - Overview
  • Main objectives are to provide an insight into
  • Franchising in practice
  • The variety and number of franchise organisations
    within the UK
  • The decision making process in choosing a
    particular franchise
  • You (as a group) will take on the role of a
    potential franchisee
  • The main focus of the group report will be on
  • Decision criteria and justification for choosing
    a particular franchise
  • Reflections on the decision making process
    what advice would you give to someone going
    through the same process?
  • Guidelines will be available for the report

Group Project - Groups
  • Maximum of 13 groups of no more than 4 students
  • Lists will be put outside Emma Steeles office
    (B93) you need to sign up for your group BEFORE
    this Friday

Group Work
  • Group assignment is an important part of the
    course
  • Groups must work together and must co-ordinate
    the work between themselves
  • We do not take free-riders lightly!

Tutorials
  • Most weeks include a 1 hour tutorial after the
    lecture directly linked to the group report
  • There are set tasks each week that the group must
    prepare beforehand and then work on during the
    tutorial
  • Joanne Larty and Luke Pittaway will be available
    for questions and advice during the tutorials
  • There is a set task for next week you must
    start to look into different franchise
    organisations and bring information with you to
    the tutorial next week on which ones appeal to
    you and why
