2The SEAPLANE ProjectWhat we understand under
SEAPLANE
- SEAPLANE if you have a look in the www you find
the following definition on the Webpage of
Wirtschaftssenator BremenThe SEAPLANE-Project
seaplanes do not play a major role in this
EU-Interreg-IIIb-Project. SEAPLANE stands for
Sustainable and Efficient Air Transport -
Platform for Linked Analysis of the North Sea Air
Transport Environment.
3The SEAPLANE ProjectWhat others understood from
the SEAPLANE project
- Offers for seaplanes, seaplane training,
questions etc - I have been asked to be a consultant in a
seaplane operation. Would you be kind enough to
give me an idea of an hourly rate that should be
charged? (e-mail from Maine, USA)
- I am a former Navy seaplane pilot and I am asked
to conduct a lecture on aviation history. My
problem I feel well qualified to talk about the
operational aspects of flying seaplanes but I am
NOT well qualified to talk about the economic and
marketing aspects of commercial seaplane
operations, e.g. what determined the economic
viability of PanAmerican's "Clipper" flights from
S. Francisco Bay to the Far East (extreme eastern
Asia)?(e-mail from San Francisco)
