12THE MARKET OF REFERENCE
- The market of reference of the Corrado Gex
airport, is identified with the Regione Valle
dAosta. Taken into consideration the population
(120.000 in habitants) and limited industrial
activities (20 about of PNL), the mobility
demand is more related to the tourism incoming .
OUT-GOING TOWARD ABROAD (7.085 )
TOURISM 2001 (arrival or departures)
IN-COMING FROM ITALY 579.280
OUT-GOING TOWARD ITALY 139.356
IN-COMING FROM ABROAD 214.795
() N.B. Only departures via airplane (2002)
13- The airborne traffic demand of reference for
Regione Valle dAosta for year 2002, is
considered being 120.000 passengers/year
approximately of which 78.000 in-coming and
42.000 out-going.

PASSANGER AIR BORNE-TRAFFIC (arrival departures)
IN-COMING FROM ITALY 4.620
OUT-GOING TOWARD ITALY 27.950
IN-COMING FROM ABROAD 73.760
14- The airborne passanger traffic demand is
primarily related to the United Kingdom (over
45.000 passengers) and Scandinavia (25.000
passengers). Italian passengers originated
primarily from Center South Italy(2.700
passengers) and Rome (1.800 passengers).
IN-COMING 2002 TRAFFIC BY COUNTRY ORIGIN
IN-COMING 2002 TRAFFIC BY REGION OF ORIGIN
15- As far as destinations are concerned, the demand
of transportation out-going is oriented primarily
toward Italy, Rome, Calabria region and islands.
Destinations related to the out-going traffic are
substantially unstable.
OUT-GOING 2002 TRAFFIC ITALIAN DESTINATIONS
OUT-GOING TRAFFIC FOR ABROAD DESTINATIONS
16- Today, targeting market niches, assuming one
flight/week for a 50 seats aircratft to be
performed for a period of 12 consecutive weeks
within 2010 and two flights/week within 2015,
the traffic is forecasted to be a minimum of
35.000 passenger/year upto a maximum in 2015 of
at least 50.000.
44.264
34.980
17- The demand for airborne tourism traffic
(in-coming out-going) is foreseen growing till
2015 between 46 99 in accordance to three
different scenarios economic coordination within
EEC, Global competion and non coordination
amongst the EEC countries.
DEMAND FOR ARIBORNE TOURISM TRAFFIC
(passengers/year)
18- In order to manage the growing demand the Corrado
Gex aeroport needs to be able to receive
aircrafts 70/80 passengers capable (ex. ATR
72/500- 72 passengers). The operative capacity of
ATR 72 fully loaded, is approximately 715
nautical miles. This should enable a link between
Aosta with any area originating the in-coming and
out-going tourism. The regional governement has
recently approved the intervention on the runway
(the length shall be approx. 1500 m.) and on
technicalities needed for the strumental flights.
The airport might be, in the near futures,
involved in the Galileo pilot project for the GPS
system flights.
