• Reports show that the level of stress that people
  feel during their work week often is a reflection
  of how much time they spend in their car in
  traffic
• For generations people in the US have used cars,
  buses or pricey aircrafts to travel, but
  Washington has opened the door to a historical
  turning point in regional travel
• The Department of Transportation has awarded 8
  billion among 31 states to begin developing
  Americas first nationwide high speed intercity
  passenger rail service

• This project will cut the US dependence on
  foreign oil, reduce climate changing pollution,
  and trigger economic development
• The federal funding is the down payment for
  groundwork for 13 new high speed rail corridors
  in the US
• Some states will work using tracks that are
  already there, while others will build railways
  from scratch
• High speed railway in America is long overdue
  and President Obama understands that we cant
  build the economy of the future on the
  transportation networks of the past- Federal

• Trains could travel between 110-260 mpg depending
  on the state and the railway built
• This picture is on a high speed railway platform
  in Tokyo where the passing train looks as if it
  is going at the speed of light
• Experts say that to take the train from St Louis
  to Chicago would shorten the trip by at least 10
  getting the traveler to their destination
  refreshed and less frustrated and stresses

• This project is funded by the American Recovery
  and Reinvestment Act and it represents a historic
  investment in our countrys transportation
• It will create jobs and transform the way
  Americans travel
• Experts say this project will not finish in
  portions of CA until 2026 and some people in
  Florida will see this by the year 2015
