    you to reinforce your expectations

  • The idea is that you know how to best manage your
    classroom and that you are able to convey that
    expectation to your students in the target
    language, using comprehensible input.

But what about Kailah?
  • Assign phrase or character with an accent. In
    Ks case, she reinforces the obvious by declaring
    in the most uppity attitude she can muster (not
    too tough for her!)Es obvio! By doing this,
    Ive told her OK, so you like to give me major
    attitude. Cool, I like attitude. But I think
    you can do it with EVEN MORE attitude than that,
    and youre smart enough to know when to do it on
    queue. Thats when it is OK. Entiendes? On
    queue, bueno. Off queue, malo (show death stare
    that pretty much says, go ahead, say something.
    I am crazy.) The result is a more controlled
    Kailah and acquired vocabulary. Kailah might not
    remember what shes supposed to say but her peers
    will.
