• 2-3 is the best proportion
• Ex. Relationship of wall to windows

• Sense of equilibrium
• Formal-symmetrical, identical on both sides
• Informal-asymmetrical, equal weight on both side
  but different objects

Emphasis

• Center of attention
• Should dominate but not over power
• No competing focal point

Rhythm

• Leads the eye from one place to another
• Repetition recurring lines, color, form or
  texture
• Gradation gradual change in repetition in size
  or color
• Transition-curvy lines
• Radiation-flows from a central point
• Opposition-lines form right angle

• Unity- one idea or theme
• Variety-objects that support a theme and add
  interest
