PHASE 2 STRATEGIC PLANNING AND PLAN FORMULATION

• Training of Trainers reviewing the STRATEGIC
  PLANNING guideline, the WASH PLAN Document
  Guideline and the WASH PLAN Document template.
• Preparing the first and second round of training
  of State WASH Core Planning Teams (CPT) and their
  interaction with their State Taskforce and
  hands-on practice with the tools.
• Kosti, White Nile training by IRC consultant and
  National Support Team (NST) for 4 central states
  CPTs and the White Nile Taskforce testing the
  support materials

• Kassala, Kassala training by NST, coached by IRC
  consultant, of 3 eastern states CPTs and the
  Kassala Taskforce assessing the quality of the
  resulting 0 draft plans.
• Based on lessons learned and feedback by CPT
  members, the IRC consultant and the NST review
  support materials.

PHASE 2 NATIONAL AND KHARTOUM STRATEGIC PLANNING
AND PLAN FORMULATION

• The NST and the IRC consultant introduce the
  National Taskforce (and its Core Planning Team
  (?)) and the Khartoum Urban WASH team (Khartoum
  SWC) to the strategic planning approach and the
  WASH Plan Document guideline and template.
• The NST and the IRC consultant adjust structure,
  formats and guidelines for the National WASH Plan
  and the Khartoum WASH Plan to specific
  requirements at those levels and identify
  possible further planning support required.
• The NST prepares a support strategy and time
  schedule together with the IRC consultant between
  now and the Phase 3 Review of Draft Plans
  tentatively scheduled for early December 2009.

• The NST and the IRC consultant consult national
  level stakeholders on the proposal to produce 3
  separate complementary outputs
• State / National WASH Development Plans 2010-2016

• State WASH Sector Information Management and
  Issues Identification reference report.
• In consultation with national authorities, a
  recommendation on plan review and update
  procedures will be produced as well.
